For the past month, I’ve been getting this nasty text messages from a number. And although I’ve already reported it to my mobile provider, Orange, I have yet to ring the Nuisance Call Bureau.
It all started when I texted a friend of mine, B, to ask him to come down to our local pub. The number was given to me by his sister since the one I have stored on my phone was unavailable anymore. I never got a reply back on that message but I did see B down at the pub and he told me that even that number is not his anymore. So, I deleted that number under his name.
Next day, I got a message from a number asking who the heck I was. It only appeared as a number since I don’t have it stored under any name on my phone. I replied back apologising for any inconvenience. Then the nasty messages started from that number…
I always seem to get the message around half past midnight or around 1-2 AM. I ignored the first ones so I deleted them from my phone. But when they came in more often, I decided to keep them on my phone. I rang Orange about 2 weeks ago to report the incident and they referred me to the Bureau.
But something smells fishy with all these….so I rang B (with the right number!) and asked him if he recognised the number. He said that it was his number before as given to him by his ex. But she took it back when they split.
Obviously, I couldn’t actually prove that it was her who was sending me those text messages. But I will ring the Bureau after the bank holiday Monday to finally get her (if it is really her) off my back. B confronted her at the pub earlier but she denied the whole thing.
My other friends told me not to worry as they will look after me and if it is really her, she doesn’t have the right to do what she is doing as I’ve got nothing to do with her. I am not even after her ex-boyfriend, never had any interest and never will. B’s a good mate, that’s all.
Thought I’d just share this because I can’t keep it to myself anymore because I fear for my own safety now. Although I know our good Lord is always looking after me, it would really help if you could utter a prayer for me.
