My passport isn’t back yet from the Home Office and it has been a month since my agents have filed the extension application of my HSMP (Highly Skilled Migrant Programme) status. I’ve “suspended” my life (except for the shopping though! he he!) because I don’t know when I am able to travel abroad again. Even my work is getting anxious since they are expecting me to go to Boston soon and to do a US roadshow of our product.
It is my personal life that is taking the real toll because one of my very good friends, E, is in Europe right now filming a documentary in Belgium. She and I were planning to meet up and do a tour of Italy and Austria on the week of the 10th of Sept. I haven’t seen E for years! But seeing as my passport isn’t back yet, I cannot even apply for a Schengen visa that would enable me to travel to Italy and Austria.
Then, there is R’s birthday on the last weekend of September in Salamanca (Spain). I so wanted to go but again, I may not be able to.
And then, there is my godson’s first birthday – J – in Copenhagen on the first weekend of October. What kind of a godmother would I be if I’m not even there for his very first birthday?
Aarrgghhh…my heart is breaking.
