I was in London yesterday for my body exfoliating treatment at a Clarins Studio. It was supposed to be at 5.10pm but they rang me to ask if I could come in earlier at 4.30pm. I said yes. I got there a bit early so I was just walking languidly along Bond Street. Went into the Jigsaw accessory shop and saw this nice suede, olive-coloured belt with an oval buckle. I was never really into belts but this one looked really cool. So I asked for the small size. While I was trying it, the girl told me that they have matching bags to go with it. I said to her, “Bring them on!” She brought me 2 in different shades of olive. I didn’t like one as it had embroidery on them and it had a long strap/handle. What caught my attention was the other one, in soft suede, which is more in between olive and emerald green. This one is perfect to carry on the shoulder. And it did complement the belt. She was bringing me more items as if trying to doll me up! She brought me a matching scarf but it was so wooly and seemed to be ‘too eager to get to winter’, if you know what I mean. I was hanging to the belt and the bag on my shoulder as potential purchases. The others were ooh-ing and aah-ing while I was trying the items on in front of a mirror. Of course, the entire look would not be complete without … tan-dan-dan! SHOES! She first brought me this wedge with a T-bar and I vetoed immediately. Told her I am not a wedge heel kind. Then she brought me these lovely court shoes with about 2-inch heel, in suede again (the material of the season), which looked more like mary janes than a proper court shoe. The colour was somewhat between beige and very, very pale pink but again, it complemented the belt and the bag! I could wear the shoes for work and it’s great with jeans, too! I tried the same style but with a blue green colour because I saw this lady trying it on and she was wearing a black suit it was gorgeous! But when I tried it on myself, didn’t look quite the same. So, I settled on the one that I tried on first. The sales attendant gave me another style to try on and this one had a massive satin bow on the front. I shook my head and said, “No, too girly!” They all laughed at the store. One of the attendants said, “I never heard that comment made before!”
In the end, I bought the belt, the bag and the shoes. While I was paying up, they had a guestbook at the counter and I wrote on it saying, “You are all sweet! I had fun shopping! xx” I really did.
Can’t wait to check out their clothes! Need to get ready for the christmas parties…
