In addition to my previous post, it had been 20 years indeed and some the artists who are participants to Band Aid 20 don’t even know who Sir Bob Geldof is! News and radio chats said that Joss Stone was excited to meet GANDALF! And had to ask her father to tell her who he is!
Why wait for 29 November?
You can now download the 2004 and the original 1984 tracks from this site:

Oh, you could hear a 30-second clip before you decide to download, too!
Listening to the 2004 track, I felt goosebumps when all the artists sing the line “Let them know it’s Christmas time…”

Hi Lady C.
I meant to blog about this too but you beat me to it.
Methinks DA BES pa rin yung 1984. Lahat sila sikat: Duran, Paul (Come Back and Stay Guy), Spandau, Wham, Boy George, Bananarama, David Bowie (for intro to the record), even Paul King (of love and pride fame) made it. 80′s is the best decade for music as far as I’m concerned.
Now the attraction for me is still the old guys: Geldof of Boomtown Rats, Midge Ure of Ultravox and Bono. Plus Keane and Travis and sige na nga, Sugababes.
Still the killer line haunts me the most:
“Well tonight thank God it’s them, instead of you….”
How depressing!
It’s so nice na after 20 years, si Bono pa rin ang kumanta ng line na ito eventhough he was not so excited about it. Justin Hawkins of the Darkness actually recorded his version but in the usual falsetto and said na his version is better than Bono’s – either the 1984 or the 2004 version!
Doms, napaghahalata mga edad natin ano? hehehe…
Gandalf pala ha! :tilt:
