Not again!

FIVE EXPLOSIONS HIT MADRID PETROL STATIONS AS RESIDENTS STREAMED OUT OF THE CITY FOR A HOLIDAY WEEKEND…

I was with my friend, N, at Bluewater when our other friend, M, rang her mobile to tell us of the news. She was actually checking up on N’s brother, A, who works in Madrid during the week and flies back to London every weekend. M said that there was another bomb attack in Madrid.

I then rang my friends in Madrid to know if they are alright. Thank God, they are. R said that there was a warning an hour before the bombs went off, so they were able to evacuate the people within the vicinity of these petrol stations. They also made major checkpoints on the motorways coming in and out of Madrid. This weekend is a long weekend so people have made plans to go out of the city.

ETA have claimed responsibility over the attacks.

This was more their style anyway since they “notify” or “announce” what is about to happen before it does. Which was why the Madrid bombing early this year was so unlikely them as there were none of these warnings. But still, it doesn’t give them an excuse to do such atrocities.

Anyway, I still have to check up on other people as well. I’m pretty sure they are okay but just to be on safe side.

Update on 22:52 – Just spoke to another friend in Madrid. She told me that although the explosions were not that major, people are saying that these are just a preview of a bigger one that the terrorists are planning. :sigh: Are they ever going to stop?

  1. I didn’t know about this! I’ve been sleeping sick all day but still, nothing in the news when I was surfing the net early in the morning or even now shows anything about the bombing. Fecking biased American journalism. They’re so American-centric!

    Hope your friends are okay.

  2. Did you try to click on the links I provided with the post? CNN has it, as well as BBC, here is the link.

Well, so far, everyone seems to be okay.
