Freakin’ IE!

Could anyone tell me why my IE won’t connect to the internet while Firefox can on the same PC? :comp2: Too much for me on a Sunday morning…

Update at 20:52 – I checked the different forums in the web to find a resolution for my problem. Apparently, when I removed some spyware and malware from my PC, the Winsock settings also got affected. So, in one of the discussion boards – That Computer Guy’s Help Forum, they recommend to download and run this freeware – Winsock XP Fix. Well, my IE seems to be working…for now :bitelip: … thanks a lot serebraldamage!

  1. This happened to me too. The problem, most probably, isn’t IE, but with your connection settings. I suggest deleting the dialup networking file for your current connection and recreating it. After doing this it’s a good idea to open IE, go to Tools > Internet Options > connections and check if the settings are properly applied. I did this and it worked. I hope it does for you.

  2. Thanks for the info, Lillyanne, but I have a broadband connection and it’s always on.

    Nice blog, by the way!

  4. Thanks, Karla and Lillyanne for your feedbacks. I’ve managed to sort it out now and I’ve updated the post.
