RoBoTs

RoBoTs Just gone to see Robots at the cinema here in Dallas. It offers the voice talents of Ewan McGregor, Halle Berry, Greg Kinnear and the fabulous Robin Williams. It’s a story about this young robot, Rodney (McGregor), who has very creative ideas and had gone to the big city to make a big name for himself. He turned out saving the ‘world’ from this greedy mother and son (Kinnear) team who wants to get rid of the old model robots. Fender (Williams) welcomes Rodney to Robot City and introduces him to the rest of the gang. Rodney then smells something fishy when the spare parts have fallen short of supply and the only option for these poor robots is to get an upgrade. Turns out that the big honcho ‘lost his mind’ and Rodney helped him realise his dreams again and shooes out the bad guys.

The story is a bit lame – we’ve heard it before. Plus the graphics and animation are not with the same calibre as those of Pixar and Dreamworks but the gadget ideas are really genius! And I really can’t get Fender’s Britney Spears do out of my head! I’m not sure if this was Twentieth Century Fox’s first crack at animation but it was good. Very, very entertaining! I would definitely recommend it!
