I couldn’t remember for the life of me why I clicked that channel button on my cordless phone. Toopid me! I suppose I was annoyed by the noise I hear in the background when I am on a call. Now, it has re-arranged the frequency settings and now kicks my laptop from its connection to the wireless router! I checked the IT forums and someone suggested to change the channel of the router. But that is not a guarantee that these two equipment won’t continue doing a tug-of-war with the radio frequencies. Someone suggested that if you really want both, get a 5.4Ghz or 900Mhz cordless phone as the 2.4Ghz will definitely cross the 54G wireless router. I have a Belkin F5D7230uk4.
The phone is disconnected for now. Since I’ve done that, the connection has been pretty stable. It wasn’t at the beginning but now it seems okay.
So, do I get a new cordless phone? I’ll try changing the channel of the router first. That is, if it will let me get back into configuration settings facility! It won’t let me back in again!!! :comp2:
Maybe I should sleep it off first … I have the entire weekend to play about with it anyway. Joy.
