Yes, today was a very summery day here in England. I think the temperatures went up to 30C in some places. Yet, it wasn’t too hot because there was a very nice breeze blowing along.
This could be a sign that summer will indeed come this time (still, fingers crossed!). Last year, I could hardly remember the sun coming out at all. They do say that there will be a heatwave this year. Uh-oh, hopefully not like the one about 2-3 years ago where a lot of people died in France, especially. But with the infamy of the British weather, one can never be too sure really.
Bumped into a friend at the local grocers today and I ended up in the pub till about 30 minutes ago. I haven’t been down to my local for ages! Everyone thought I moved away or I was hiding from someone! Of course, the answer is no to both. I told them that I’m not the type of going into the pub by myself. If I knew who was certainly down there, I would go for a drink or two, otherwise, I won’t. They told me that I should get out more, to which I replied, “Well, if you ring me up and know that you’re around, I will.”
There was one person at the pub that I was sort of hoping not to run into. Not because I did something bad for him or at him. It was the opposite actually, he let me down twice. But he never apologised. That was a bit disappointing but I’m not about to remind him of that. So, we just sat there as if nothing ever happened, which is better. I don’t like confrontations either.
I forgive easily but I don’t think I forget in quite the same pace.
But it was good being down there again. Surprised to hear that most of the locals (pub locals, that is) still remember me and urged me to come out more often. They are nice people so maybe I should really try harder.
It’s a bank holiday weekend and I’ve got nothing planned. Well, I’ve got my driving lessons tomorrow but after that, my calendar is completely clean. Gone were the days when I would be out of the country every bank holiday weekend opportunity I get. Maybe it is because I’ve done quite a lot of travelling already this year for work.
I still need to get away to chill though. A friend and I are planning to go to Mexico or Cape Town in September. No exact dates yet but we definitely want to go away for a week or two after the summer peak. Will keep this blog updated on that.
Happy weekend everyone!

I don’t like going to pubs or bars as we call them here, by myself either. It looks lot a bunch of people want to hang out with you though, so you should have plenty of good company. Well, company at least. :cheerful:
