I remember that episode from Joan of Arcadia where Joan tried to juggle three balls in the air and how her friend, Judith, was encouraging and supporting her on. It was also the episode where Judith died.

It made me wonder if I could do it, too. Juggling, I mean.

My recent workload in the office has made me realise that I CAN’T. Just this week, I had to:

• Organise, draft, collate and consolidate a bid response which is due to be on the client’s desks on Monday.
• Arrange for an introductory meeting with a possible partner, i.e. agree NDA, overview of the benefits we could gain from each other, etc.
• Arrange and prepare for a prospective client presentation next week. Mobilise colleagues, synchronising diaries, etc.
• Respond and attend to support requests from our offices abroad as they make final touches on another bid.
• Prepare a draft of the changes to be made for our company’s website. This is in advance of the meeting with the web designers next week.
• Prepare for a meeting that was supposed to happen yesterday when my confirmed attendees cancelled on me at literally the last minute. And,
• Taking care of things that may arise in general as my boss is on her annual holiday leave. They seem to have proliferated exponentially this past week as my points 2 and 3 on this list were results of these random business matters.

I am able to handle everything (Darna!) but only to focus – as in really focus – on one thing. Which is sometimes to the detriment of the others.

And then, when I get home, I busy myself with checking my personal emails (yes, I hardly get any personal emails at work!) and the different forums where I subscribe to, especially that one of PINOYexpats. (Not complaining.) :sly: And then, of course, do my bloghopping!

Looks like I’ve put too much eggs in the basket this week. And as we all know, it is difficult to juggle eggs as they break easily. Oh well, it is Friday, anyway!
