Before I continue, I deeply apologise for leaving you all hanging. I needed to catch my train to Cardiff that was why I had to cut the reminiscing short. Anyway, here is the rest of the walk down memory lane…

My head was spinning too much with his confession so I suggested a walk. Maybe it was just the wine. But it wasn’t — he really meant what he said. I know I was probably been too naive but it really felt sincere. Kisses don’t lie, at least his didn’t.

So after a short 2-block walk, we found ourselves back at our hotel. And his room was on the lower floor whilst mine was on the 5th…easier to get to his than mine’s…

… … … …

The next day, we checked out of the hotel and grabbed breakfast at some cafe. We then went to the British Museum for a Titian exhibit, one which he was particularly keen on seeing. Walking hand-in-hand, we checked his works.

Afterwards, we walked to the embankment to sit down on one bench and just watched the Thames. There were no words. He just held me in his arms and it felt like the safest place in the world for me. Then it was back to reality. He had to go. I asked him if he wanted to see me again and he replied, “Yes.”

I was filled with hope. So full of it that I stayed sitting down while he walked along the path towards the bridge. Before he disappeared from my sight, he turned around and blew me a kiss. But even before the following week finished, my cloud 9 crashed and burnt me. It was all over even before it could really begin. The other woman found out, unkind words were spoken, and then we said our goodbyes. He said, “If only I met you two years ago.”

Well, three years on…he is now married. It stung. But I’ll get over it. I finally got my closure.

  1. aw…what a poignant story! at least you have some closure, not to mention a very sweet memory!

by the way, I’m tagging you for a book meme! You can answer either Cat’s or Sassy’s version (or both!)

    Cheers!

  2. :crying: Waaah! ang lungkot naman. Parang rollercoaster ride. One day you’re on top of the world next day everything came crashing down. But as they say it’s better to have loved than not at all. Eto ba yung nang hack sa yo?

  4. to mikey: as long as you are coming into the relationship with no other strings attached, you’ll both be fine!

to elizabeth: well, deserved or not, i became stronger from that experience.

to analyse: i never really ‘digested’ the lyrics of this song. thanks! it does seem quite apt…maybe not the beautiful part (hehe!)

to christine: di nga umabot ng isang linggo eh! oh well…

to tin: i’ve come to realise recently that i could only write about some of my misfortunes when i’m finally over it or just about to. thanks for reading in any case.
