Am I cut out for it?

AnP’s recent post on work-life balance is the perfect segway segue, I thought, to give you a bird’s eye view of what is happening on in my life, at least for those of you who have been excited to hear about it. So, here goes…

I remember when my coupled friends have told me that it will come when you least expect it… they were right! I went to a friend’s 30th birthday party down in Cardiff, he took an awful picture of me (as he was the official photographer of the party) and I demanded that he delete it and take another one! Then, we chatted and danced and at the end — and having learnt my lesson from Chessington Paul — I got his phone number. While he was typing the number on my mobile, all of us were being dragged outside as the place was closing up. The party was continuing on at the hotel where most people were staying. We decided that we would go and while there, he remembered (or was it me who reminded him?) that he still does not have my number. So, I gave it to him and asked me to type his name for fear of typing it wrong and might not remember what name he saved my number with.

Since then, things are going smoothly……

So, why AnP’s post?

Well, I am now at a point in my life where I need to balance: (1) family, (2) work, (3) friends and (4) my new relationship. For the longest time, I only had to manage with the first 3 and I think I had been doing quite well. Now that this lovely person is in my life, I have to learn to fit him right in without compromising any of the others. And being the impatient me, there had been moments (already!) when I think that I am not cut out for this. But he’s been patient with me…and I really appreciate that!

He knows that I’m going to write something about him and me on this blog. He has seen it. So, if he happens to read this…hunny, thanks for coming into my life and making me happy!
