Today marks my 2nd year of working in this office for this company. To be honest, it felt as if I had been working for more than that. Maybe it is because I have been in this line of business since 1996 so moving from one company to another really did not give me a feeling of starting over and anew.
But all is good…so far.
Yesterday, however, I did get that whim of changing jobs. But then the better — or should I say, more pratical side of me quickly poured water over that idea.
I guess it came because a friend unofficially offered me a job opportunity, which could pay better than what I am getting now. It might also give me the chance to work in the City (London’s financial district) but it would also mean that I will have to learn new ropes as this would be in a different sector from where I work today. I may be up to the challenge and my friend has also assured me that my IT/IS skills would be considered highly but it wouldn’t take the fact that I will need time to learn.
Anyway, like I said, I’ve shut out that thought for the moment. I suppose too many changes happening in my life at the same time may be too much than I can handle.
Thus, I will carry on. I did (and still do) think that I have still more to give with my present role. The best part about it is that they still see that in me as well.

wow 2 years na—congrats!:-)))
if you’re enjoying your job and the people in your workplace, why leave? hehe just my view.
atleast your happ where you’re at. that’s what’s important, right?
to siena: thanks! you’re right…there shouldn’t be any reason. i just felt for a moment that i needed a change or a new challenge.
to hanagirl: yes, i am happy with where i am now. maybe i just got bored for the time being.
its rare to find people working in the same company for more than 2 years…much more rare people who work and enjoy them for that long…
our parents worked almost like for 1 company their whole life which i found to be odd…sabi nila “a rolling stone gathers no moss”…who needs moss if the “grass on the other side is always greener”…
keep it up…as long as you enjoy it di ba?
