It’s that time again when I take my trusty Samsonite suitcase from the top of my wardrobe and pack for a trip. It is a business trip so, suits and work shirts will be included. Oh, and heeled pumps, too!
Thing is, I DETEST PACKING! Maybe it’s because I’ve done it so many times and at one point or another, my suitcase was the single most familiar item (of course, along with its contents) to me in a lonely hotel room where I was CNN-overdosed.
I don’t really know what it is about packing that I really do not like nowadays. Could be because everytime I pack, I realise how much clothes I lack and that I need to buy more, which is not true because I couldn’t even fit all my clothes in my 2 wardrobes! It could also be because I will have a limited option in terms of mixing and matching with bags and shoes as I could only really bring so much … 5 pairs of shoes, 1 evening bag, 1 daytime/work bag and 1 carry-all enough? Or yet, it could be that I’ve lost the penchant and excitement of travelling. I suppose not.
Ah, whatever it is … I don’t like to do it anymore. There should be a shop where you simply tell:
- where you are going
- the purpose of your travel
- how long are you going for
- what activities you intend to do
… and voila! … they’ve got a ready-packed suitcase for you! Of course, it would be at a premium cost if you want all of these items disposable (one-time-use-only) so you won’t have to drag them back home. Or maybe you pre-order them and they would be at your destination, ready to be picked up at the airport when you arrive at your destination. Or better still, ready and waiting in your hotel room.
Hmm…business idea, perhaps? Well, if a business happens to spring up with this concept in mind, you know where it came from. Hahaha!
Aaagghh! Me no like packing… oh well …
