Huff-puff to fitness

YES, I HAVE DECIDED TO GET FIT!

Nope. I didn’t join the gym. They will only suck out money from you each month without actually seeing the fruits of your sweating. Besides, I find gyms B-O-O-O-R-R-R-I-I-I-N-N-N-G-G-G-G! No amount of tunes in your iPod can wipe away those dull moments of running on the treadmill.

So, I have decided to get fit in a different and more fun way.

Dancing.

Nope. I will not be going to clubs on a nightly basis. I have joined a dance club instead. They have a wide selection of dance classes. From salsa, street dance to jazz and tap. They even have belly dancing and pole dancing! (Already signed up for those…) And they also have courses where you dance for fitness as well as martial arts (capoeira and wing tsun) and yoga.

There is a membership fee, too, but I am far more inclined to part my money with them as this will be much more fun than the gym. So, from tomorrow, I will be dancing my tummy away without the hum and drum of those exercise machines!

As an added bonus, I am also learning to play tennis. I went to buy my first tennis racket yesterday and I was so pleased for they were on major sale!!! Half-price off! Had a trial run yesterday with my “coach” … P’s housemate … and I was really crap! Well, hopefully I will get to play more so I could really do a proper tennis game.

Excited. Indeed, I am.

  1. that’s a shame, pinayhekmi, i enjoyed the first class on “Xpress Yo’Self”… on fridays, i’ll go to “Latin Fusion” and “Sevillanas”

oh yeah, anne, thanks for reminding me of those!

  2. analyse, the first day went well although i wasn’t able to get into the class that i wanted as i had to stay longer at work to finish some things. i went to “Xpress Yo’Self” which is like urban r&b dancing. i looked like a bouncing gizmo! i definitely don’t look good dancing it. today, i am going to the “Latin Fusion” and “Sevillanas” which i think i am better at.

  3. ladycharlie, i’ve been having tennis lessons for 5 weeks now. once a week lang. i know we keep saying that we should meet up for coffee but this will be a good excuse as we’ll get to practice our tennis.

btw, i’m still crap though :)

  4. wow good for you! i have yet to move my arse from the couch. i gave birth about 5 months ago and can no longer use the “i-just-had-a-baby excuse” to explain the spare tire ’round me middle. gah! pls. have a dance for me as well!
