Short but good

I had a 4-day weekend. Not because of bank holidays but I took some days off to show London to Catsudon, my blog ninang (godmother). She and I were chatting on YM about how many days off she has to take but doesn’t know where to go. She initially just wanted to visit Paris but then I prodded her to coming to London instead. And so she did. Although she did spend some days in Paris, too. After all, getting from there to London is now easily done with the Eurostar.

It was also new for me as I was able to finally set foot inside the V&A and the Natural History museums. Funny how one tends to skip these places with the excuse that “it’s just there.” It’s like I lived in Madrid for 4 years but never visited the Prado.

I also took her to Camden Town where my purse was almost picked! Good thing Catsie was right behind me and she saw the girl threw the pashmina on top of my bag so she could slip in her hand inside my bag. When she was caught and her hand snapped away, she only said “sorry…” P said we should have struck the living daylights out of her. We didn’t. And I’m not sure if it was necessary anyway.

We also went to see Billy Elliot at the Victoria Palace Theatre. Brilliant show! I highly recommend it. And last Saturday, we headed off to see Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead Man’s Chest … need I say more with Captain Jack Sparrow? He’s always a delightful character and yummy, too! (*slurp* *slurp* sounds!)

The rest of the weekend was spent in front of the telly watching the men’s singles final of the Wimbledon between Federer and Nadal. Great to watch. Two fantastic players so it didn’t really matter who won. But, it was Nadal who charmed the public. And of course, the Italy v France match for the World Cup final. A lot has been said about that incident with Zidane so I will not add more to the speculations. Futbol Mundial (World Cup) 2006 is finished and we should all look forward to 2010 in South Africa. Or Euro 2008, for us here in Europe.

I really didn’t feel like going back to work today but I know I have to. In any case, I won’t be able to post this as I still have NIL internet connection at home! Oh well…

April, you live in London right. We’re planning a trip there kasi next year. Would you know the price range of the 2-3 star hotels there? The cheaper the better but hopefully not dingy.
