What’s on with the world? Coup in Thailand. Uprising in Hungary. The Pope saying things he’s not supposed to.
Moreover, one of my favourite TV presenters had been in a nasty accident. Richard Hammond (picture below), one of the presenters of Top Gear was filming in North Yorkshire when the vehicle he was driving veered to right and flipped. Top Gear has become so popular here in the UK attracting not only the lads but women as well through the charms and cheekiness of the presenters – Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Hammmond.

According to BBC:
Hammond was driving a jet-powered dragster similar to the Vampire – used by Colin Fallows to set the British land speed record.
It is thought Hammond was attempting to break Fallows’ record of 300.3mph.
Richard is also a presenter of another of my favourite TV programmes, Brainiac – a show which presents a lot scientific experiments “just for the fun of it” and providing answers to some questions you would never ask… “How many straws will it take until one can no longer sip liquid (cola, in particular)?” or “What not to put in your microwave.”
The accident is being investigated but those who antagonise the programme now has an argument with keeping the Top Gear show low key, i.e. not having the presenters do the stunts themselves. Or worse, cancelling the show altogether. I hope not. I hope that the BBC will keep on airing this show. Besides, Richard was doing what he loves to do. I’m pretty sure that he was aware of the risks involved.
At any case, he is such a lively character and will definitely miss his temporary absence from the little screens. My prayers are with him and his family.
GET WELL SOON, HAMSTER! X
