Review of a review

I was following the links from MyBlogLog when I chanced upon Skeet’s Stuff. I noticed that she had this PayPerPost button at the end of each of her posts. I wondered, “Hmmm, that looks interesting. I’m always on the lookout for some ways of earning a little something from my blogging so I’ll try this one.” So, I clicked on the link. I signed up and now, I am writing my very first review.

Skeet wrote about the Ray Ban sunglasses offer from bestbuyeyeglasses.com. It was nicely done as she related it with her personal situation. I mean, what could be more fitting for a person living in Hawaii but to write about sunglasses! No brainer there, really. Anyhow, she mentioned that she had selected a pair for herself and I wondered if the photo she included in her review post is her actual choice. If so, not bad at all. Although, I would have picked a different style.

I did find it strange when Skeet mentioned that her optician has a limited selection of prescription sunglasses. I would have thought that being in Hawaii, more people would be more into wearing sunglasses thus making it a good business. But having said that, Hawaii is also detached from mainland USA and as such making it difficult to have a continuous good stock of merchandise. The internet has not only facilitated a lot of these ‘shortcomings’ from traditional commerce but also offer competitive pricing. So, in the same light as with Skeet’s recommendations, definitely worth checking out!

  1. I’ve been wondering who reviewed me. I’m such a non-techie that it didn’t occur to me until today to check technorati, lol! Mahalo for the review!

Yes, it’s the distance limitations that cause many merchants here to scale down their stock. We can get anything that’s available on the mainland, but might have to go to a dozen places before we find just the right style/size/price/color. The internet has greatly increased our options.

Come on ove rand see me again sometime. You’ll always be welcomed with aloha!
