I’ve just updated some of the sites I help administer to 2.3.3 and this blog is still running on 2.3.1. Now the peeps over at WordPress are giving a sneak peek of version 2.5!
I can’t keep up with these people!!! In a good way though…
From the screenshots, it does look exciting. But wait a sec, what happened to 2.4?

Charlie, have you updated your WP version before and if you do does it delete the current them that you are using or whatever customization that has been made will still stay after the upgrade?
I am still using the old one and never had the time to upgrade and thinking of doing so but worried it will restart all my customization; no beta site for my to test … Haha!
Kamusta?
No Kyels it doesn’t delete the changes you’ve made to your theme, unless there is a feature on the theme you are using that is not compatible with the WP version.
Best to save a copy of your customised codes so if you need to get an updated version of your theme, it will be easy to implement the customisations again.
I also suggest that you install WP on a test site on your domain. Something like [domain URL]/test. This way, you’ll only need to copy the customisations across the main site from your test site.
Hope all of these make sense. I am not an expert admin but I do manage to get around some of these things.
Good luck!
Charl, have you already updated to 2.5? If not, you should — it’s really cool!
Hey, Kala… great to hear (or read) from you again! Anyway, I have been testing 2.5 and not quite there on upgrading all of my WP sites. Check my recent post on the subject.
