WordPress talk

I’ve been updating enhancing some of the website that I manage today and quite recently. All of these sites — including this blog — runs on WordPress. Here are some of my observations:

Version 2.5.1
I’ve upgraded 3 sites to version 2.5.1 and so far, the most useful feature for me is the maintenance of the plugins. This new version allows you to automatically install the new version of the plugin without the trouble of having to download it, unzipping (if necessary) and then uploading to your server. Upgrades can be done right on Plugin Management of your Dashboard. Easy!

Another feature I like is the media management, especially with images used in posts. With version 2.5.1, you can upload the image and insert into your posts in varying sizes — thumbnails, medium and full size.

I know that version 2.6 is now on beta 2 so what I’ve said here may elicit some responses like “Yeah, I already know that!” But nonetheless, if you haven’t discovered these features, then my only reply is, “You’re welcome.”

Image Plugin
Finally, finally! I’ve installed the Lightbox 2 plugin, which gives a rather cool popup of an image used in your posts. Click on any of the images below to see what I mean.

Cool, eh? From hereon, all of the images used in my posts will have this plugin.
