Fuel surcharge refund

Have you bought a ticket in the US or in the UK for British Airways or Virgin Atlantic Airways flight(s) between 11 August 2004 and 23 March 2006? If you have, then you may be entitled to a partial refund — 33.3% — on fuel surcharge!

Apparently, a US court has authorised to notify the passengers that might have flown long haul during the said period. I got 2 letters in the post so possibly one of the flights I made had qualified under this ruling. As far as I can remember, however, I made these flights for business. So the company I work for is actually making the claim as one since they are ones who paid for them anyway.

If you think you have made such long haul trips on these airlines during this period, then check www.airpassengerrefund.com or www.airpassengerrefund.co.uk where you will find more information including the contact numbers or filing your claim online. Claims must be received no later than 31 December 2012.

Eraserheads fever

If I was to select an artist — solo or group — to represent the Philippines, I would reply, “Eraserheads!” in a heartbeat. They were the most prominent band during my years in university, especially since the band members also went to the same uni as I did. And even today when the group is no more, they are still considered the greatest Pinoy band of all time. So when they decided to have a reunion concert last 28th of August, you bet the entire nation was excited. And I was gutted not to be there.

And there’s 3 more

Spotted by Locals have added 3 more cities – Milan, Madrid and Ljubljana. Since I lived in Madrid before, I was excited to see what the spotters there have included and I was happy to see that the Chocolateria de San Gines was there! It’s the best after a great night out clubbing or bar hopping!

Best tips from the geeks

So, have you started your own blog and/or website yet? C’mon, I know you want to. I promise I’ll visit often and give you some linky love if you do.

If you are thinking about it then I suggest you best find a reliable web host. Not only will you look for the best uptime (of course, you’ll want your site to be visible and accessible all the time!) but also a provider that will not break your bank account whilst giving you the best service. Do such a web host exist? Well, ask the geeks — the web hosting geeks!

WHG (Web Hosting Geeks) offers plenty of useful information in selecting a web host. They not only list the Top 10 Web Host but also which is best for website use, i.e. for a blog, e-commerce, multiple domains, etc. There are also web hosting reviews both from their webmasters and customers, which I recommend reading with caution, especially those coming from the customers. However, take it from the geeks, they know what they’re talking about!
