Free electricity

This is good news to those who live in Manila, Philippines.

From January 2009, if you consume less than 21 kWh of electricity per month, then you no longer need to pay for it. Meralco is implementing this ruling issued by the Energy Regulatory Commission. The only amount customer would have to pay is the monthly metering charge of P5.00.

According to the report, this ‘lifeline’ already has structured discounting in place. Consumers can enjoy discounts depending on their monthly usage:

21-50 kWh, 50%
51-70 kWh, 35%
71-100 kWh, 20%

Programmes like this is great not only in the current economic climate but also encourages people to use electricity less for environmental reasons. I wish we had something similar in place here in the UK.

Saturday night telly

Phew! That was some night on British telly — semi-finals of Strictly Come Dancing and the finals of the X Factor.

First off, I’m still not quite sure on how to react to the results of Strictly… hmmm… I’ll sleep on it first.

As for the X Factor, I am quite pleased Alexandra Burke won. She was amazing and that duet with Beyonce was absolutely phenomenal! Congratulations! She was not my favourite from day one but she did well tonight.

But what was thing she was wearing for the final song, Hallelujah? Didn’t like that dress/gown/blanket at all.

Spreading the holiday cheer

Christmas is around 2 weeks away. Have you done your shopping yet? I haven’t but I am halfway through.

It is a known fact that this season is quite stressful, what with all the presents, lists and shopping that you need to do. But it is that time of the year that you think of all the people who have made an impact to your life for the year that has gone and those that you haven’t been in touch with for a long time. With that in mind, is Christmas only for the personal? Would it also be appropriate to bring the holiday cheer to the workplace? The answer, of course, is YES.

One way that a business shows its holiday spirit is by throwing a party for its staff and perhaps, most important clients and/or suppliers. However, with the credit crunch, I have heard that there has been a lot of parties cancelled this year. There are some who are keeping it strictly to staff or department dos. What better way is it then to thank those who helped your business on its toes than by sending them a card? I know a lot of people think it is quite old fashioned but I reckon it is a good way to express your gratitude.

At The Gallery Collection, you can pick from 195 business Christmas cards and personalise it with the name of your company. You can also choose the message on the inside of the from their selection of greetings like

Wishing you a Joyous Holiday Season
and a New Year filled with Peace and Happiness

Some of the cards in the gallery is offered with a 40% discount but this is for a limited period only so you better get in those orders quick! Moreover, The Gallery Collection is giving away holiday cards to the first 100 people who order up to 250 per order. Additionally, you can also download a digital copy of Charles Dickens’ “Christmas Carol” from DailyLit.com.

Christmas cards are indeed a nice way to enhance your business relationships. With a wide selection from The Gallery Collection, you can add your personalised touch every step of the way!
