This year (2010), my birthday fell on Easter Sunday. I’ve actually had it coincide with all the days of the Easter week in the past so I never really made any plans since most people will be doing their own thing during this break. So I was prepared to stay in my jammies all day but instead I got surprise treats.

Upon waking up, I had breakfast made for me. Nothing special on the menu though, just rice and fried eggs, one of my comfort brekkies. Then I opened the birthday card from the boyfriend, which said that the evil chicken kidnapped the rabbid and I had to rescue it. I was also given a Mars chocolate egg and a red ribbon with a bell (that belonged to the rabbid) as initial clues. Yes, an Easter egg birthday hunt! At the point, I haven’t put on my contacts so I was walking blind. I went to put them on and noticed that there was a Lindt dark chocolate egg behind the hand wash soap. I went on to find the rest of the treats and found another Mars choccy egg by a decorative dish sitting on top of the dining table. I went hunting in the bedroom and found no treats there and as I went out, I saw something sitting behind the door to the living room. They were a Lightning McQueen mug with a huge chocolate egg sitting on it.

Boyfriend told me there were more in the living room so I continued perusing every corner of it and found a bagful of tube-shaped marshmallows stuffed inside my sheepskin boot! They were parts of the rabbid’s, I was told. I panicked a bit because I was losing time and I still hadn’t found it. I continued my search in the kitchen where I found more of the marshmallows (inside the plate cupboard) and Terry’s orange chocolate (sitting with the dishes on the drying rack). Still no rabbid. At some point, boyfriend could sense the panic in me and said that I need not worry because the rabbid is being taken care of by the pig. I didn’t get it at first but eventually, I sussed out that I have a pig ceramic on the shelves in the kitchen. I looked behind it and found the rabbid! Success!
