No gig

I got an email from The Online Ticket Shop saying that I can now reserve tickets for the U2 concert at the O2 Arena next year. It got me so excited because I so want to see them so I clicked on the link. It did get me to the site — i.e. it wasn’t a bogus site — however, before I clicked on the ‘Submit’ button, the little voice inside my head told me to Google for the dates of the concert first. Both relief and disappointment to find out that the band had not confirmed any tour dates for London or anywhere else next year. According to the U2 site:

22.11.2007
Concert Rumours (Unfounded)
Just a note to correct reports that tickets are becoming available for planned U2 shows next year.

There are no plans for live dates next year – so please don’t buy tickets for any U2 shows you see advertised.

You can be sure any future live announcements will be made on U2.Com as soon as they are confirmed.

So, please be warned and avoid being scammed!

wow! close call….that was a Safeguard commercial moment.

I missed them when they were here in Toronto in 05. It was my mom’s birthday and they were here only for 3 weeks…
