Weather watch

I woke up today to see that all around me – outside of the house, of course – is white. Yes, snowy white!!! The snow is still falling and the wind is blowing very, very fiercely. I’ve never seen a blizzard in all my life…could this be one?

This weather is not helping me at all with my skin problems. I don’t know if it is getting worse but it sure is not going away. I’ve tried using baby oil to help retain the moisture and it also helps relieves the itching a bit. I am planning to see the doctor tomorrow but if this weather keeps up, they might not come in at all. Oh well…I have to give a shot.

Snowfall It is awfully strange that we have this extreme weather at this time of the year here in England. It is supposed to be spring sometime soon but yet we are still at peak winter. Forecast says that there will be more snowfall until Wednesday. Hmm…

I have taken pictures of my surroundings. I will post them later when I’ve downloaded them. I might go out to take a good one and submit it to BBC. I just have to find the right gear to brave the coldness. :cold:

Constantine (2005)

Last weekend, I made a stopover in Dallas (en route to San Diego) and stayed at a friend’s. We went to see Constantine, the new Keanu Reeves film. I wasn’t aware of the pinay featured at the beginning who was possessed ala Linda Blair. But there she was, sans the green peas, and did demon speak in Tagalog – “Patayin natin silaaaaa!”

Constantine is the kind of film where somewhere in the middle of it all, you’d just want to say……”oh puh-leaze, get it over with!” But if you are able to sit through the entire film, you’ll find that the plot is intriguing.

It’s about this person who is making his way to heaven by acting as demon police. Then the son of the devil is trying to make his way back into the world…do you really want to know what’s it all about? Maybe it’s best if you go and see it yourself……that is, if I’ve managed to convince you enough that it is worth seeing it…doubt it, though.

My rating: * *
Buying the DVD? No.

Under the weather

I’m writing this from San Diego, CA, where I’ve just assisted in a software demonstration for a prospective client here. It went well, but as always, we could have done better.

Anyway, it is so unreal seeing California flooded and pouring with rain. The locals here said that they’ve never seen anything like this for a long time. Some of you must have seen it on the news. Here in San Diego, it isn’t as bad as Los Angeles. Life still goes on and it is not as disrupted as most towns around LA.

Back in England, I was told that it had been snowing. I knew when I left last weekend that snow was in the weather forecast but now, some people have been saying that there have been blizzard-like situations. Well, I hope it will not make a big trouble for flights. England is a country not particularly good in dealing with natural disasters…or even just 2 inches of snow!

What’s on with the world then?

God bless the Queen!

The lawyers rang me up today and told me that my permanent residency application here in the UK has been approved!

Yippee!

I’m really grateful… :cheerful:

One more year after that, I’ll be eligible for a British citizenship and then I’ll be a subject to Her Majesty.
